Deadliest Catch: Jake and Jake switch back

I saw a sneak preview of tonight’s episode at CatchCon. This exercise of exchanging Jake Andersen for Jake Harris apparently runs into trouble. Of course, it’s always dangerous to be in bobbing around in the Bering Sea even for a few minutes in a survival suit. Check it out tonight, 9 PM.

I just watched the sneak preview where the Jake’s trade back to their original boats and I got tears in my eye’s knowing that they could die being put on the Bering Sea, and I know that they make it ok, but it is so emotional with Phil’s death I feel like I was in a relationship with Phil personally and that is redicilous, but there was something about him that is unexplainable and I know that many others feel the same way. I guess that he was just the kind of person that you would like to be around all of the time he would make you laugh and not even know it… I miss you Phil

Just finished watching the show tonight.
Jake really seemed resentful towards Josh because he was sent over to the Northwestern.
I hope they are getting along better now.

It’s funny… I’ve never been one of those people who yells at the t.v. (like the people in the movie theater…don’t go in there type of thing) but I find myself yelling at the t.v.. I yelled at the t.v. on the season premiere when the captain from the Maverick was pushed by Captain Jonathan and Captain Phil stepped in the middle and stupid Maverick captain pushed him. Last nite I was yelling at them when the switch occured. I kinda got the feeling Jake (NW) didn’t want to leave the CM. I’m glad CM’s Jake is back but the sibling rivalry is still continuing… that’s a little disappointing but what siblings don’t argue. I’m sure they have good times together… but realistically people like drama and the rivalry is the drama. It’s strange to watch the show and know Captain Phil is gone…I agee with one of the posts above that the show should be all about the CM… maybe the TB boys too… I like that boat and crew as well! I know I’m not looking forward to the episodes when Captain Phil gets sick… it will be so hard to watch! I’m glad all are safe and sound on their own boats and will always remember Captain Phil! “You either make things happen, watch things happen, or you wonder WTF happend”-Captain Phil (hope i got that right) R.I.P Captain Phil

great show last night. I like both Jakes. I wish that Jake from the nw would stay over at cm. He would be treated and respected so much more over at cm. Who knows it could happen. Boy, Kevin sure got his butt handed to him last night from John. sad that these brave men can’t forgive and forget but I’m sure theres so much more that has gone on between them both that we no nothing about. I like the nw too. Not thilled how they treat jake and edgar is a bit of a bad apple most of the time. I will continue to watch every week because I really do enjoy the show. I had a friend who worked on a boat up there in Alaska and she was a cook. She told me that it was the scarest job she’s had ever had and would never do it again. Besides the hard work she told me that everyone was always heads up about safety and it can and did take a toll on some of the breavest of men. I have a real respect for these men and women who do what they do on these boats. I know I could never do it.

Morgan, I have a tribute idea for Capt. Phil. Come the night of Episodes 13/14, all of Phil’s fans could watch the show and have a duck fart ready to be toasted and drunk in Phil’s honor at the end of the show. It would be called “Fart with Phil”. People could take a picture of themselves toasting to Phil and then submit it to the website where you could post the pictures. I know of no fan that wouldn’t have loved the opportunity to sit and have a drink with Phil, and Phil’s fans are certainly “a little twisted”. Therefore, I think Phil would love the idea. It may help put closure for the fans that are unable to attend a memorial service. What do you think?

Yea show was a real “can’t wait for the commercials to end” episode.
The crab fart thing was joke, and i bet Phil would have rather seen a bunch of motorcycle rides held in his honor. Take pic’s of your club or group on your bikes with some sort of tribute in the pic. Something the boys can print and look at for years to come.
But if you must do the fart thing, then i say everyone in the picture needs to dress like a crab or at least paint there face red and have green balloons tied to there butt ;)

Ok, Rick you obviously are not a true DC fan if you don’t know what a “duck fart” is. LOL!!! Yes the crab farting thing was most likely a joke that Phil would do, but hell it worked didn’t it! A “Duck Fart” is a drink (shot), that the Captain’s would toast with at the bar prior to heading out on the Bering Sea.
I agree with some of the other viewers. I was just able to watch the last 3 episodes (had them DVR’d). I had watched the first episode the night it aired, but I cried so hard that I could not bring myself to watch the other episodes right away. I felt like I had lost a friend & seeing him on the screen knowing what the final outcome would be killed me. I didn’t know Phil personally & only knew him from DC, but he was always so real. In the opening episode there were sound bites from upcoming episodes & one was of either Jake or Josh telling Phil it was going to be ok & they were getting him help. I had to pause the TV, I was balling so hard I couldn’t see or hear the TV through my tears. I felt very foolish, so I am glad to know I am not the only stranger grieving for a man I never met. I always told my husband I wanted to go to Seattle or Dutch Harbor to try to meet Phil. It would have been a pleasure to have known him.
My heart goes out to all who knew & loved Captain Phil. He will truly be missed by all. Even those of us who never had the pleasure to meet him.

You need to start with the heaviest (which I think is the Crown) & then you add the lighter stuff being the Baileys & Kahlua. If you pour the Baileys & Kahlua over the back of a spoon as you pour them in (resting the spoon slightly in the Crown) they should layer off nicely. I have not actually tried one, but I have made other layered drinks & that is how we poured them. Good Luck! Let me know if it works!

Capt. Phil’s remains are being divided between two motorcycle gas tanks that were hand painted by a friend. One tank is designated to his personal life and has pictures of his sons and dog. The other half is dedicated to his fishing life with pictures of Cornelia Marie, crabs, and a duck fart. The tank pertaining to his family life will be buried with his mother at a local cemetary. The other tank is going to be exploded at sea in October. The tank pertaining to his fishing life even has his crab necklace on the gas cap along with the saying about being twisted. I’ll provide the website for photos.

By the way, I simply adored the Mother’s Day commercials with Josh, Jake and Scottie. And the crab with the flower was adorable! Wonder if they will do something similar with Father’s Day and if it will include Phil.

I hope Josh and Jake are getting closer as brothers. They seem like really nice people and it must be so hard to greave in the public eye. Capt Phil will always be in our hearts as long as be remember him. Wish I could have met him when they were at Ontario Raceway or down in San Diego. Anyway I pray for a good happy future for Phil’s kids.

The switching of the two boys was asskicking and one of the most ballsy things I’ve ever seen. It’s not something I’d ever think of doingt and Ive done some pretty crazy stuff. The surfinf thru false bay by the Time Bandit was incredible. These things show just how brave you have to be to fish for crab in the Bering Sea. My whole level of respect for these guys has gone up to max level. I hope they all continue to be safe! I’m a 56 year old ex biker and live a life that was outside the norm but, these guys are amazing to me! R.I.P. Phil
