My friend Adam who runs the cdiver.net website – a online community for the world’s commercial divers – was telling me the dangerous working conditions of commercial divers. Of course, in the most recent season of “Deadliest Catch” we saw this first hand when Captain Keith Colburn of the F/V Wizard took a shot to the head when trying to inspect his ship’s haul. In this video above, the diver quickly looses part of his thumb on a dive job. Yikes! His boss on the radio calmy tells him not too worry about the blood because there aren’t any large fish around. Lots of ways to get hurt! Thanks to all the commercial divers around the world working on oil rigs, ships, underwater pipes, etc. – stay safe! Find more videos like this on cDiver.net

Clip from Deadliest Catch Episode-”Slap in the Face”
Here’s a clip from the episode on June 30, 2009 of deadliest catch. It was a bad year for ice in the Bering Sea and it’s taking its toll on everyone. This clip features Sig and he looks like hell.
Ever wonder if Captain Phil gets scared out there on the Bering Sea? Do the guys ever get sea-sick? How about falling overboard? Check out this YouTube video from an appearance on Larry King Live back on April 11, 2009 and get the inside scoop. Captain Phil, Josh and Jake Harris talk about why it seems that most fans of Deadliest Catch are not fisherman, the scariest moments in the life of Alaskan Fisherman and some of the reasons they do what they do! See clips from last season and the Cornelia Marie crew on Larry King Live. What do you think makes the Deadliest Catch such a popular show, especially among people who aren’t a part of the fishing industry? If you could ask Captain Phil, Josh or Jake one question – what would it be?

Here, at the Cornelia Marie family we believe in a few simple things. “Work hard, Play Hard” or “Work hard, play harder” if you prefer. We believe in a strong work ethic. Capt Phil said, “Everybody wants to be big time, they just don’t want to work for it.” If you are of able and [...]
It was one year ago today that we lost the skipper of the FV Cornelia Marie. Capt. Phil harris passed away on February 9th, 2010. I think it is appropriate to mark this date on this website today and every year this site exists. Capt. Phil was a big reason why “Deadliest Catch” grew in [...]
This article comes from People magazine Before his death on Feb. 9 at 53, Phil Harris, the tough and colorful captain of the Cornelia Marie on Discovery’s Deadliest Catch, fought against all odds, came out of a medically-induced coma following lengthy surgery, spent a few more days with friends and family – and set his [...]
The following article is by ROSE COX of The Dutch Harbor Fisherman ([email protected]) To fans of the “Deadliest Catch,” he was captain Phil Harris, the famous crab-killing rider of the wild Bering Sea. But to those living at the tip of the Aleutian chain, he was just plain Phil, one of the most endearing, demanding [...]
Hey Everyone
I happen to agree with Everett and what he said taking the Cm off the show is not the answer to it all. While i agree the boys are not ready to fully take over but why not hire a full crew and allow the boys to be up in the wheelhouse and engine room and let them learn everything they need to know so in a year or so.But putting them on another boat as deckhands what are they learning??NOTHING!! Meanwhile the boat sits dockside and Capt Phils dream goes out to sea.I really think the boys are getting a raw deal and its wrong.Everyone made a promise to Capt Phil before he passed away and the only 2 people who seem to be living up to there promise is Capt Johnathan on the Timebandit & Capt Sig & Edgar on the NW.But as far as those on the boy’s own boat well the boys are getting shafted!!The boys don’t know anymore about runnin a boat now as they did last season and i think that STINKS!!!!!
