It was two years ago today that we lost the skipper of the FV Cornelia Marie. Capt. Phil harris passed away on February 9th, 2010. I think it is appropriate to mark this date on this website today and every year this site exists. Even though it’s been two years, I am still receiving emails every day from around the world as viewers of the show are just now finding out about the loss of Capt. Phil. Often, the email starts out “I hope you don’t think I’m strange but I feel sad even though I never actually met Phil…”. I don’t think you’re strange. If you have watched a lot of episodes of Deadliest Catch, then you’ve actually logged a lot of hours with another person who decided to let the cameras in to show the good, bad and ugly. Phil decided if he was going to do it, he was going to go all the way… so the cameras kept rolling. So, I would think it was strange if after watching you didn’t feel anything.
Just the other day, I met somebody for the first time and they quoted Capt. Phil to me. After talking about the current ice situation he said, “This ice goes up to the place where Santa Clause lives.”. Then he said another which I don’t have documented, “Most people start off stories with, ‘This is a true story’… fishermen start off with “This is no bullshit…’”. You can read all Phil’s quotes here and more about him here. What is your favorite quote?
“I feel like a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.” Runner up: “You’re not a man until you’ve pulled out a tooth with a pair of pliers.”
My dad Phil harris drilled a hole through his Han and finished his shift. Just to let you know I lost my Phil harris too
have watched the catch from day 1 …and haveing been brought up young on aboat and a family in the fish industry …. really love you guys and your family phill you are a ledg mate r.i.p
The show just is not the same without this man. I surely do miss him.
“You smell that….that’s the crab’s fart bubbles”.
“You’re that low below whale sh!t.”
My favorite quote – don’t remember his exact quotes but when he talked about how much he loved his boys in a discussion from the wheelhouse. What better quote than to say you love your boys?
The show is not the same without him, but THANK GOD we still have The Northwestern and Time Bandit boats to watch.
Josh, still think ur the shit…but… my favorite? “THAT’s why lions EAT their young!”
“Now you know why lion’s eat their cubs”
I’ve always liked his “you can watch things happen, you can make things happen, or you can wonder what f*** just happened”.
Captain Phil’s been an inspiration to me. When I feel like throwing in the towel and walking away, I remember “you have to EARN it!”, so I give it another shot, not matter how many times I’ve already failed.
I loved them all but if I have to choose just one it has to be “I feel like a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest”
I don’t know wether to shit or go blind!
” There’s fart bubbles, there’s crabs” …man I miss him !
I have tried many times to watch the show since Capt. Phils passing but I just can’t get into it anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I love the rest of the crews and capts. but I really loved Phil, he was so real and never tried to hide who he really was!!
” to all the older people in the room…..you can start making love right now and probably finish that up by the time he gets this….” When Josh was at the rail for the first time. Close second was when Todd said he bet $5 Josh would miss the first time and Phil said ” I’d bet $10 if I was you!” too funny
I agree with sandi about the new DC! But I also want to see the boys follow in there fathers foot steps carrying on the legacys (boat/phils) and starting there own! Am also please that the team behind the website remember phil! My favourite quote and I do use it, everyone wants the big time they just don’t want to work for it! Is the boat fishing for Opies? If so happy hunting be safe and good luck! Davey
“I feel like a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest” has to be the best….. Miss you Phil and your great smile.
This is the actual quote by Capt. Phil:
#Philisms “Well…The difference between a fisherman’s story and a fairy tail is…A fairy tail starts out “Once upon a time”….A fisherman’s story starts out..”This is no bullshit!”.. A great quote, I heard it just this morning on the Deadliest Catch tribute episode to Capt. Phil.
“You’re not a real man ’til you’ve pulled a tooth with a pair of pliers.” i laughed at this quote. i still miss him every day. he was like a role model.
My favorite Capt Phil quote: “Well the sun shines on a dog’s ass every once in a while, well
I guess it’s my turn!” Capt Phil (King Crab season 2009)

It was a sad day whan phil passed always loved his jokes he will always be alive in our hearts
ALL THE PHILLOSPHIES BY PHILL OVER THE YEARS WERE LEARNED BY EXP TO BUT THE WAY THE MAN DELIVERED THEM WAS GENIUS !!!! I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT HIS BOY’S WILL CARRY ON !!!! IF I HAD A FATHER LIKE THAT MAN AND KNEW HE WAS LOOKING DOWN ON ME I WOULDN’T LOOK UP TILL I KNEW HE WAS SMILING
not a fave quote…just miss that smile…
xoxoxo
HiHoneyFineEverything’sFine.Engine’srunningOnAugzilliarysButEverything’sFineOffloadingInSt.PaulYaBeHomeSoonLoveYouTooTellThemILoveTh Hello?youThereCanyo me?
Capt. Phil to Jake: “you could be a F###in astronaut if you wanted to…” I watched his last episodes when my own father was in the hospital with heart trouble. It was the first time I cried since it happened.
my favorite quote from Phil Harris was you could be an astronaut but you aren’t and my other favorite was you gotta earn it.
The crab farts! LOL!
Heres the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHhMyc4uvKg
Miss ya Phil!
I can still remember the first time Capt Phil said “I can smell those crab farts from here” Still makes me smile.
Josh and Jake we are still sorry for your Loss. May GOD Bless all you Crabbers durning this long season. And GOD BLESS all of you..:)

Phil, you are the talk of the world, and will remain so for eternity… Here’s a tribute pic I made for the great Capt. Phil: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=343530432336320&set=a.225322000823831.55151.218586791497352&type=1&theater
I feel like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.
My favorite quote? When he said “Now you know why lions eat their young.” Then he laughed that glorious laugh!
Captain Phil had so many great quotes, its hard to pick just one…
“You’re not a real man ’til you’ve pulled a tooth with a pair of pliers.” cracks me up every time.
He truly was, and in his own way still is larger than life.
R.I.P. Captain Phil
In some episode I remember Phil saying either to Jake or Josh ” you’re so full of shit your eyes are brown”. I think that was hilarious and I’d use it a lot but translating it to my native language just does not work
Other favourite is ” It’s gonna be a heavy tobacco consumption day today”
Phil was the absolute heart & soul of DC. I miss him terribly but I am also extremely grateful he gave us a chance to get to know him. I feel as if I lost one of my closest friends, but I’m thankful that I can look back through pictures and video and enjoy his company and wit time and again. I often wonder if he knew how much he was loved and respected by so many….I hope he did! You are always close in my heart and thoughts! Miss ya big guy!!!
My Fav is still “Tickle me with a feather!” then he did that famous giggle of his. I miss seeing his smiling face…
There are too many Philisms to name as my favorite. Everything that man said made me laugh and smile. I miss him more today than I did this time last year. It is too hard for me to watch the show now, it’s not the same without his presence. Phil Harris WAS the heart of that show. It’s just not the same for me, I no longer get excited to sit and watch. And this is truly sad because Sig, Johnathan, Andy, Keith and Wild Bill are still there. But my heart was with Phil.
If I have to pick one favorite, it was telling Jake, “Dude? Dude? You say that one more time and I’ll punch you in the face”. He loved those boys so much and he put us with so much from them. That was the best part of the show, watching him with Josh and Jake. God bless them both and God bless Phil Harris.
I never left a message here before, but as you all miss Captain Phil. There were many things that you don’t know that he wanted to do, an never quite got there. But one thing was the Deadliest Brew Coffee it was set to a major take off. I had him going into many major markets here in Alaska.Marsha was working well with my company. Then out of the blue yonder, I found out it was a stroke that had happened.I was told he was awake and talking, giving the crew and doctors hell again. I thought OK it will be all good again. I was in the air to visit him, my plane got there to late and my friend, he was gone. So as respect I stayed at a distance. I seen the kids from time to time while they were travailing. but never really new the boy’s. I wrote an produced a commercial CD for the coffee call the The Deadliest Brew’ with my brother Wendell as lead. Is it not funny how with the departure of a great man so many things can fall down.
I pray that the boy’s wake up an get going with what there father was really about.
God Bless.
Captain Everett
No offence to the other cast members but to me the show just isn’t the same without him, he may be gone but never forgotten.
Today I watched Valhalla and the Tribute episodes again. Especially during the tribute, my emotions kept going on a rollercoaster from sadness to uncontrollable laughter. This might sound really stupid and cheesy, but I don’t have a very good relationship with my dad and so watching Phil and Josh and Jake, it made me jealous because it was plain how proud he was of them. A lot of characteristics Phil showed are qualities I want to have. You gotta work for what you want. Love freely. We miss you, Phil. And we were blessed to have been able to watch you.
Capt. Phil died on my birthday….He was my FAVORITE cuz he didn’t scream and yell at the guys like some others I won’t name. Every year on my birthday I remember Phil and it makes me SAD!!! My favorite quote by Phil is the CRAB FART BUBBLES!!!! He certainly was one of a kind and I miss him as much as I love him!!!
I think the camera crew(s) are to blame for Phil’s untimely demise. I’ve watched that episode over and over, and they KNEW something was wrong with him and waited for someone else to go into his cabin and discover him. Honestly, watch it, think about it, analyze it. They clearly knew something was up. To me it seems they rolled the dice, and Captain Phil lost.
crab farts, “now you know why lions eat their young” and when Phil called Josh and Jake Ding and Dong
I would like to fish with you Men
Two Years…long years but it seems like yesterday and I still can’t believe Phil is gone. I know he is but only in body, never in spirit. A soul like that leaves echo’s on the water that last long after their legend is forgotten. Whether fair winds or stormy sea’s they linger on in the memory of those who understand what it is like to truly live their lives to the fullest. Josh and Jake if you read this know that I for one wish you all happiness and hope that you both choose the path that feels right for your lives and never look back and second guess anything. You will make mistakes and have great successes. But live life just like your dad chose to. Love the ones worth loving, take chances when you need to, own up to your demons and in the end leave this earth a little better than you found it. That’s the legacy that will live on from Phil in your own children someday. Best Wishes.
After putting one of his boy’s in his place:”Was that clear enough?”
After learning of a friend’s ship in distress:”It’s a sad day today,boys”
WOW!!! Forgot that it’s been 2 years since Phil passed away! Still miss seeing him on Deadliest Catch unless Discovery Channel broadcasts some of the older DC programs every once in awahile. He’ll be remembered for sure. What’s the Cornelia Marie doing during opie season? Hope she’s out there catching those opeis with Josh and Jake on board! Been hearing about the rough Alaskan winter this year, and you all have been thru some pretty tough storms out there on the Bering Sea since November, 2011! Just be careful and safe, ok? Chari
I loved the pranks that Phil and the CM crew would devise to use on the Time Bandit and Northwestern to get back at them for their pranks! They were hilarious!! Chari
I have just recently started watching the Deadliest Catch series on Netflix. I am now hooked. I have just finished watching the 2010 season. I must say it brought tears to my eyes. I lost my father in 2009 to a massive stroke. I know exactly what Josh and Jake are going through with mouring the loss of their father. I wish them the best in all of their travels.
R.I.P. we love and miss captain phil harris. never forget. good luck for cornelia and jake and josh harris. many, many years of the sea and fishing the crab. german fans miss him.
Forever loved and missed Capt Phil Harris You Passed Away On My Birthday I Will Never Forget !!!!! REST IN PEACE PHIL

watched deadliest catch last night was so sad, and sorry to lose such a great man, we have followed it all the way through but this was the first we had seen that Phil was not going to make it, and we just discovered that he had passed some 2 years earlier, our thoughs still go out to Phil’s family and friends xx
Watched Deadliest Catch this week and felt I’d lost a good friend. I’ve only been watching for a few months but the programme gets under your skin and becomes part of your life. Josh and Jake you were blessed to have such a (tough) loving caring father XX
hav.ing just watched the loss of captain Phil. my heart go’s out to all his family and friends. He was a loving caring father to which Joshua and Jacob should be proud of.
Hi , I loved Phil , he reminded me so much of my own father , two son’s and how to help them , same as we were , watching him and how he tried to help them and better their education for the sea ,was much like our own dad tried to help us , but not at sea , Now our dad is gone and the void that is left , its unreal , I love the episodes that show Phil talking to his sons trying to do everything to help them foward , its one of the reasons i love the programme
keep up the good work
Thank you

Watched re-runs at weekend and then was very sad. Phil you were one of the “Good Guys” and will continue to be much missed. Hope those boys of yours are doing you proud whatever path they chose.
Two years he’s been gone…still feel the pain of his passing. Not his pain…mine. I have never experienced such a connection with someone I never met. Over the 5 seasons I watched “Deadliest Catch” he became a friend of mine…I mean a real, honest-to-God, back-to-back brother! One of my greatest disappointments is I never got to share a beer with him or a long stretch of highway on our Harleys. Ride on, Brother Phil…whatever stretch of highway you travel now, I bet you own it!
Just saw the episode on discovery, when he had the stroke…
I have no words.
R.i.p Captain Phil.
God Bless Captain Phil, The Best Captain of them all. I cannot watch Deadliest Catch now he’s gone. Thank you Cornelia Marie for the memory.
R.I.P PHIL you are missed xxx
Hey, guys
I loved watching the Cornelia Marie.
It was my favourite Boat and Phil was my favourite Skipper! I loved his jokes and the kind he speak with the other guys.
I was 12 years old when first I watched the Deadliest Catch (Fang des Lebens in german), and now im 15 and still watching it. Deadliest Catch changed very mutch for me since he’s dead. I was near crying, seeing the 16 episode -Valhalla-.

Just turned on the tv and saw capt. Phil Harris and rememberd that its been 2 years he’s been gone but never forgot. I cryed cause when he died I was in a battle along with his son against drug addiction. I am doing better but still in that battle. Life is too short and I just don’t get why such a great man lived so short. I love you Phil

Desde Barranquilla, Colombia admiramos la gran labor del Capitán Phil Harris en su lucha por alcanzar el éxito, nuestras condolencias desde Colombia para sus hijos, hermanos y familiares. RIP Phil!!!
Today I have found that legendary Cornelia Mary Capt.Phil passed away. For me this is very sad morning..I’m flooded with a strange feeling, like I’ve lost somebody close, even I never met him. Among all captains, Phill’s unique charisma and attitude aroused all my sympathies&respect. Just a look on his face, reveal toughness of a sea wolf, but for me he was more a father figure, a living legend. Two years passed since passed away but, Captain Phil’s spirit will live eternally in hearts&minds of his “deckhands” around the world! Captain, rest in eternal glory!
Miss u phil. Deadliest catch and the world will never be the same. Rest in piece old friend.
Been watching since the beginning…didn’t realize Capt. Harris passed until watching tonight. I’m so sorry Josh and Jake! I cried with you. Just wanted to let you know that someone was praying for you tonight.
- Sarah
Un saludo capitán Phil de un marinero gallego (Galicia en España tiene la segunda mayor flota pesquera mundial, sólo por detrás de Japón). Estés, dónde estés buena travesía.
Miss u phil. Deadliest catch and the world will never be the same. Rest in piece old friend
Regards
I remember being in my truck driving somewhere when I heard the news and screaming “No! No! No!” at my radio. I was finally able to watch those episodes of the show. I cried with Jake and Josh. Capt. Phil will always be missed.
When my partner and I heard that Captain Phil died, and how, she turned to me and said “He was a year older than me.” Almost two months to the day later, I said good by to her from the exact same thing. Phil Harris reminded me so much of my father, who I almost lost to a stroke 7 years ago. It was almost a year later I was able to watch the episodes showing his loss and the celebration of his life. Rest in peace Phil, and if you’ve a short Southern Belle bugging you with questions, give her a hug from me.
I watched the show where Phil lost his battle and I cried and cried. He reminded me of my own father. He was a fighter and he’ll remain always in my heart as will his boys and their future. RIP Phil Harris. You are dearly missed and loved.
My dad and I watched the episode that aired July 27, 2010, that is the one where the world learned that Captain Phil didn’t survive. I lost my dad the day after watching that. July 28, 2010. I love watching old episodes and I can imagine my dad talking with Phil about the show and their love for family.
RIP Capt. Phil, although you are gone you will never be forgotten, you live on in your boys, much love
Cynthia from Texas
Un saudo dun mariñeiro galego, so a xente do mar, poder saber da dureza do noso traballo, e programas como Deadly casht , axudan a que a xente o entenda. Ata sempre capitán Philp
Here in Spain I just saw the episode…Phil, You were a great men. Rest In peace…
…I’m so sad now…
It’s weird to watch the show without Phil. I’ve been watching since the beginning and Phil is my favorite. Since his passing every time they show a picture, I get misty eyed. Miss you Phil!
acabo de ver la muerte del capitan Phil y es raro porque es como si e me hubiera ido alguien de la familia descanse en paz
Hello!,
I have been a fan since episode one! Over these years I have connected with Capt. Phil in more ways than one. When I watched the episode when he fell out of his bunk and thought he broke his ribs I knew it wasnt that! I knew it was a Pulmonary Embolism, how? Because I have survived it…twice!! The doctors dont know how, but I did!! Now after watching the season premier and missing Phil, and watching Jake and Josh go on two seperate boats it made me think…I am going to Alaska!! Crazy?? No!! Love the show, feel the connection. Just want to visit the docks and see the vessels before my condition takes me like it did Capt. Phil. However…I have been trying to book a hotel in Dutch Harbor for October and I keep hitting walls…can someone HELP me!! lol lol Where would I go? Who do I call?? Can someone PLEASE email me with suggestions…PLEASE!!!
Capt Phil…we miss you!!! To Capt Andy, Capt. Johnathan, Capt Sig, Capt Keith, Capt. Bill…when you cant get on the crab….LOOK FOR FART BUBBLES!!! It worked for Phil

I hope you don’t mind my doing so, but I have re-posted your amazing comment over on my FB fan page to the Catch, I am sure I will be able to find somebody there who can offer some info/advise.
Re your comment.. I myself had a feeling that something was more wrong than just broken ribs.. Capt. Phil is sorely missed by the millions of D.C fans, no matter who their favorite boat is. A man who will never be forgotten, he left his 2 sons in the capable hands of the world through TV…and did indeed leave a Legacy.
I hope you find your way to Alaska, and I hope it will be the most amazing trip you could have. All the very best to you, stay safe.
Keith. (A UK fan of the show.)
Keith,
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!! I tried emailing someone from the show too, I hope someone/anyone can help me. For whatever reason, as strange as it may sound I feel like I have to go. When Phil had his DVT (blood clot in his leg) it traveled to his heart, went through his heart and landed in his lung. After that they put him on blood thinners, which should have prevented him from having anymore blood clots. Including having a stroke. Now, in addition to my clotting problem I also have a condition that makes me resistant to the blood thinners…which is what I think Phil had too and they didnt know it. You only know through genetic testing.
I lead a normal life, I am a nurse, I have horses, work 12 hours a day..lol but I will keep doing these things until I am taken like Phil, I Dont travel much at all. But some strange thing is pulling me to make this trip and I cant put my finger on it.
Keith, you are absolutely right about Jake and Josh and I miss Phil too!!!I wish I could have spoken to him
Patty
hola capitan Phil tengo 10 años y veia pesca radical y eras de mis faboritos te doy mis condolencias goodbye
hello captain Phil .i´m ten years old and I watch deadly catch and you were my favourite
jake and josh are good dudes they should run their dads boat together
I am another person who has never met Phil but feel like i just lost somebody special. I dont have a father like Phil was to those boys and the world never should had taken a good father like that away. And Phil is a prime example of how us younger generations need to conduct ourselves in order to make it. WORK HARD, EARN IT! Phil did, so every Phil fan out there, let us all go out there and earn it one way or another and tribute the man that impacted so many viewers.
My heart will forever remember that week. I lost my husband within 24 hours of watching my favorite captain lose his battle too. He was my husbands favorite also and watching him and his boys was part of our time. Felt like they were family. I mourned his loss for us both that day but took some solice in knowing my husband would be in good company. My prayers go out every season too all the boys of the fleet. Return home safely.
I miss Captain Phil!!! He and his boys were awesome together. He is truly missed by many.
Dear Josh and Jake, i feel so sorry that your dad passed. I have been living in Italy since Nov 08 and my dad passed 12-29-2009. We just got back and when i found out Phil passed i cried. I have been watching the show since the start. In Italy we only got old reruns, my dad was a Marine but he loved nautical things. My wife and i are disabled and i just cold turkey-ed 400mgs of morphine plus a bunch of other meds. I was in withdrawals for 6 months before i went to the doctor. I also caught chronic Hept-C in 1970 and i went through 3 years of interferon but it didn’t work so i now have liver cirrhosis. I would love to send you a brass anchor 4 1/2″ long that was my dads. I hope it will bring you both good luck ? Please if you have time email me back and give me an addy to send it to you. I always pray for both of you and your dad every night.
Peace, Kevin
Sorry i forgot to check the box for follow up comments.
Kevin
I was home after surgery and decided to check out Deadliest Catch since they were showing many reruns before the new season started. After watching for about 20 minutes, I set my dvr to record all the shows. Days later I was finished, with tears running down my face when Captain Phil passed. I was surprised to feel such a loss of a person I had never met. Then after reading so many people felt the same way shows us what a great man he was.
The Man, The Myth, The Legend, just wanted to say he is the only person that I will ever think of in this aspect. What a great man so full of life, so real and in your face never afraid to say what he wanted 100% real 100% of the time! Even though I never actually meet the man, I didn’t have to, and he showed me how to be a better man and father and taught me to live my life being true to myself and family! All this through a t.v. documentary. I don’t think I will ever be that inspired by a man on television ever again in my life! Sorry for your loss Josh and Jake and to all the family and friends of Captain Phil Harris! R.I.P. Phil Harris
I’ve watched the show from the beginning and like everyone else I became very attached to Captain Phil and his boys, Jake and Josh. I lost my mother November 14th 2009 so I was still very much in mourning when Captain Phil died and I feel so bad for those boys because I know what they are going through. If they read this page, I want them to know that we are rooting for them, praying for them and that I believe in my heart that their dad is watching over them and is so proud of them both.
Rip … watch for the bubbles its crabs fartin! can ya smell it? lmao
I been watch this show for a long time my pray go to the boy they are doing good in been 2yr but it just seem like yesterday the boy are doing as i see by watch the shown i hope they can get the boat go in the year to come keep up with the work you two of you are doing
There are no words…. Watching Phil an his kids warmed our hearts. To this very day we watch every episode, when we saw what happen to Phil over the years with his health an the love he has for his kids, we prayed for his health an those boys. When we lost Phil our souls hurts, it feels like we lost a part of our family. Our prayers go out to family an friends an the men that are working in the deadliest parts of the world just to feed there family’s. God bless all of you. Sorry for been so late but I had no words.
Jake & Josh, since i have been back yesterday was the first time i had seen the episodes about your dad in the hospital and passing. It was so painful for me,it had me go through everything that i went through with my dad. I pray for both of you every night and i hope you do better than i did with my life. I have had many friend pass from drugs growing up when i was young. Please keep your strength because you have each other and your mom, friends and this means all the difference in the world. My whole family kicked me to the curb like garbage and it still hurts me very much. If not for my wife i would never made it, she’s an angel and has stayed by me all the way. Before i injured my back my family always hit me and my dad up for money always saying they would pay it back they didn’t. I was never addicted but years of morphine, Soma, Valium and lots of other crap i became dependent. My family couldn’t understand why i never could come to gatherings and remember birthdays and everything else. So lean on each other it will get you through the hardest times yet to come.I quit all my meds three times and the last one was the worst. I do not have much money, my dad and my great aunt was always there for me. But i always worked my ass off taking two jobs for as long as i could take it before i had to give one up.So now we live on very little from social security and my family will not even speak to me.My parents were the best in the world and without them i’m so lost. I have decided to start making my own jewelery and i am so scared that i will fail for the first time in my life. So i know my parents are always with me and this helps me so very much. I wish i would have told them i loved them more and i told them everyday. So stick together and lean on each other when you need it it’s worth way more than any amount of money in the world. I have been trying to get one of your addresses to send you something that was special to my dad and i know he would be proud for both of you to have it.As soon as i can find a way to send it to you i will. You guys are the best and i know your dad is proud of both of you so hang in and do not let anyone bring you down.
Sincerely, Peace, Kevin

I am so sorry for your loss. I just started watching the show on TV and now i wish I should have never started watching the show. He was one of my fav Captain on the show. I hope god give you courage and strength to overcome the loss. You both are great guys and your father was always proud of you. Be together always and make sure Cornelia Marie is #1 boat of the whole fleet.
God bless
I remember watching the episodes with Capt Phil’s passing and I got choked up. It’s amazing how someone I never met made an impact on my life. Just from watching Tv.

I just started watching deadliest catch about a week ago on Netflix. I watched every episode and found capt. Phil to be one of the best capt. on the show he treated his entire crew like family. When i watched the episode where he took a turn for the worse and then he was gone i felt like i lost a part of my family it brought tears to my eyes when Josh had to tell Jake. He will be missed r.i.p capt Phil.
I TRULY MISS CPT PHIL. HE WAS AN INCREDIBLE FATHER TO HIS SONS. YOU COULD TELL WHAT A HEART OF GOLD HE HAD. JOSH AND JAKE, I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. HE IS YOUR ANGEL ABOVE. THE LEGACY LIVES ON WITH YOU BOTH. MAKE YOUR DAD PROUD.=)
It has been 2 years and I can still cry over Capt. Phil’s death. He truly was a great fisherman and father to Josh and Jake. I miss not seeing him on Deadliest Catch. He is someone I wish I had known in life. Miss you terribly Phil!!!!!!
Captain Phil i still feel sad when i see you on the tv and your pics on the website, would love to have met you had a beer and a good old talk-you will always be a legend in my opinion.

It is still so hard to believe Phil is gone. He is missed dearly. Watching the show it felt like I knew him, even though I do not. phil was great. Even his wonderful bird house wow that man could build a master piece. I just hope and pray that the Cornelia Marie gets back to fishing Crab. I miss that boat out there. And Josh and Jake get up the money to buy it and do that. he loved his sons so much.

HEY YA’LL
This is the absolute truth!! Capt Phil had a huge part in me & my wife meeting. It was shortley after he passed away i came to this site looking for some info on Capt Phil which i THANK YOU MORGAN AS WELL!@! But i seen the Deadliest Fan site and clicked on it & liked it and pretty much spent all my time.I began to make some awesome friends then i met Wen we began talking and quickly became friends we met in Feb & by the following Aug we began to have feelings for each other as we talked almost everyday on deadliest fans, emails & then we began talkin on the phone.
Well by xmas Wen bought me a brand new $600 Gibson Dobro Guitar and for Thanksgiving i was talking to her & asked her if she would marry me & she said yesIf not for Capt Phil & deadliest Fans we would have never met.Things did not work out with some members on Deadliest Fans so i created a ALL LADIES DEADLIEST CATCH FAN SITE SORRY NO GUYS..But she came down here in Feb 2011 we bought a house and she moved down here the following May.Then the following March 2012 we was married & at our reception i stood up on stage and told everyone how we met & we said that if not for Capt Phil Harris of the Deadliest Catch we would have never met.We have something special as we was best of friends before we was husband & wife.I love her more today than i did yesterday..We will always have Capt Phil in our memories as we have the last poster of Capt Phil & his crew set in a $150 custom frame. Then we have a huge Mural of Capt Phil & the Cm & the boys.We got special permission to use one of photographer Gail K’s blown up 6x7ft mural.Capt Phil will always be in our hearts.
here in belgium we are a little bit begind, we have just seen the episode where captain phil is going to the hospital the hurricane and has hurt himself after falling. i look here and now i see that he is past away
my thoughts are with his sons en his friends and family. hope he’s watching over you guys. sorry for my english but i wanted two say something. it wil not bee the same without him ! much strength with this great loss
