I am an able Seaman who was to have boarded a Great Lakes Ore carrier in 1972 October. Unfortunately, I contracted a viral Stomach Flu and was so sick I was almost unconscious. I didn't make the boat on time and lost the berth. It saved My life, the vessel was the Edmond Fitzgerald. I know what it's like to have a second chance now. nothing like what corey went through, but being a seaman, you catch on to it pretty quick....now I'm a trucker....I'd love to work the crab boats though, need the exercise and I know what long hours are all about I know what that has to be like.
