“False Pass” Episode on Deadliest Catch

Most fishermen do not enjoy bad weather – it’s dangerous and punishing.  I guess Johnathan and Andy aren’t like most fishermen.

After many, many months of no new products in the Cornelia Marie store – we actually have some new items to roll out.  Today, I have to show you our new coffee cups with one of our more popular images.  This new cup comes in black… or black.  Yes, we like the color black here at the Cornelia Marie.

Let me know what you think of this cup and what else you would like to see in the store.  If you take a picture of yourself I’ll put it up on this website and the Cornelia Marie facebook page.  You can post your images here.   It might even end up in the store, like this gal here.

Would love to see some new crab shirts. Like the ones that Captain Phil had on his site. Those were so COOL!!
Tried to get one, but they sold out before I could.
The cool shirts were Captain Phil & Cornelia Marie all the way!

I thought it was AWESOME tonight! Especailly at the end where Jake pranked Phil! We laughed so hard!!
I thought they would show more Captain Phil. Like everyone else, I would rather see mostly Captain Phil.

It was kind of hard hearing Phil tell his crew that he planned to be there for a long time!

Miss you Captain Phil! You will ALWAYS be our FAVORITE Captain!

I wasn’t so happy with the last couple episodes! I want to see more CM then they are showing. I’m crushed that king crab is over because we all know what’s going to happen next. The prank was HELLA funny. I think they should make an episode all about the CM, the full hour! I’m not big on the Kodiak boat… they are kinda boring and it seems that DC shows more or Sig than any other boat. What’s up with that?? I would be totally happy with no one but the CM and TB boys on the show. DC needs to step up their game and start showing more CM!!! I also thought that with Captain Phil’s passing they would have made more effort to show more of the CM for the fans. I am curious to see how they handled the acutual incident. I hope it’s not showing 5 minutes then commercial and comes back to Sig, or Keith, or Bill. I just was able to watch LKL and saw the episode with Captain Phil and the boys…. Thought it was so funny when Captain Phil said he didn’t get why women like the show so much. He understood the guys, but not girls. I LOVE the show. I like seeing men that work so hard, and it’s funny to see men bicker (like women do) except it’s over fishing. I love the show woman or not. I LOVE the CM and want to see more of it!

I already miss Capt. Phil. He is a great part of the show and knowing we’ve lost him is heartbreaking. I don’t know what the boys are doing to help themselves but, I hope they are alright as well as his crew and other family members. He will be missed. REST IN PEACE PHIL!! Discovery Channel has lost a Real Hero. I hope The Cornelia Marie will continue to be on the show!

Thanks for this clip of TB. Really scary. I like seeing these two brothers; fav’s after Captain Phil but I don’t like seeing Johnathan angry. It is hard to know how much the show is about to change for all the years I have enjoyed it. I think DC producers are showing us the very best and distinguished shows in what footage they have, and that they are able to of Captain Phil, his crew and his boys and the CM. We’re aware they could not create statements with what we know is coming, and so I personally appreciated how well the show has been produced and some moving statement Phil made on the last show in my area this week. It will be very sad for them to spin the story out to us, but I trust them and know it will be done with phenominal class. I think DC is like a sleeping giant – about to awaken to the world and I am glad I was there in the beginning. This is my kind of reality show!

What I found interesting in last night’s episode was that when Jonathan was battling the waves and had his crew in the wheelhouse looking for markers, it did not appear that Scottie was participating or was even in the wheelhouse. I also found it odd that if Scottie is the heir apparent for the Time Bandit, he should have been standing next to the wheel with his Dad while his Dad was explaining what and why he was doing what he was. It probably wouldn’t have hurt to have let Scottie take the wheel and handle a wave or two. Just my thoughts. I would like to think that Phil would have given Josh or Jake the hands-on experience.

When I watched the memorial for Phil on-line one of the speakers referred to Phil’s wife “Mary”. Was Phil married? I thought he was divorced. Also, do Josh and Jake have the same mom? Just wondering.

  10. Ornree said:

JoJo, we are all wondering the same things but no one seems to be able to give us the answers.

I really don’t mean to intrude into someplace private. I was just confused about the situation.

None of it really matters, I will always remember them with just as must affection.

It is hard to watch the show and realize we will no longer see our dear Captain Phil. But,I believe he would not want us to give up the ship so to speak. So we all will continue to watch the trials and errors with each and everyone of the ships.Heck, the guys are like our own.Question…what is going to happen to Russell now he is off yet, another F/V???Also,no more has been said of Jake’s missing father…what is going on with that??I like the new coffee mugs for the CM.Have you thought of a mug for Captain Phil.I as well as the rest of his fans would love that.A forever fan..JAN

Janice, no news on Jake A’s father. Terribly, terribly sad.

I, too, would love a Capt. Phil mug!

I know that the authorities found Mr. Anderson’s truck, but I never heard if they found him. How sad, first the daughter then the father, Sad.

My husband just surprised me with a king crab that was one of the last 15 off the Cornelia Marie this last season. It was taken to a taxidermist and is now hanging on the wall of our seafood restaurant with a plaque. Phil was my favorite captain, and I actually got to meet him last year when he was selling a new coffee line. I will miss him terribly, but I will have a king crab of his to remind me of him. Phil, you will be missed.

I just got back in to watching the reruns on TV. It does make me a bit sad to see the ones with Capt. Phil, but he seemed like such a good guy – his whole crew actually. It takes a really special relationship to work with your dad or sons. I love this cup! Is it still available?

Need to fix the video as its not embedded in the post correctly. Anyway I was able to copy and paste the YouTube URL from it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_aR8QixI4k and watched the video which was awesome. I’d be throwing up all over the place though in seas like that.

Thank you for the link and like you I’m not made for sea conditions like the ones in the video.

    @Morgan
I love the coffee cup design. If there would be any space in my cupboard I would order 2 of them right away.

Like everyone else I wanted to see more Capt. Phil and was sad to see him go.

    Nice coffee cups though.

Just watched the video on youtube. There has to be some serious adrenalin pumping on that ride!

BTW, if you’re youtube plugin isn’t working (which seems to be the case), smart-youtube does a pretty good job and is always updated.

Yes, it’s so sad, even after this past year. The show will never be the same again. He was the one, capturing all my attention, and, while other guys, like Tony, are great, he was truly unique.

I downloaded the full episodes of deadliest catch and was amazed on how they do it. It gives me an understanding why King Crabs are too expensive. If there’s still king crabs today. Actually haven’t seen one.
The movie is great and eye tearing for some part seeing people risk their lives just to catch a crab??!

    O well, nice mug.
