Deadliest Catch – CatchCon 2010

I am on my way to CatchCon. You can watch it live here – http://www.ustream.tv/deadliestcatchlive

Capt. Phil Memorial was last night. You can watch that recorded here – http://ow.ly/1FssU (Update:  Apparently Discovery Channel took that video down – it was up for awhile directly after the event.)

The memorial was good, I snapped a few photos here and there. Here’s one of Josh throwing some flowers into the sea in memory of his Dad. The other photo is a tatoo of the Cornelia Marie and Capt. Phil.

If you get a chance to watch the live webcast of CatchCon today – I would be curious to know what you think of it!

I loved watching the memorial. They did a good job.

    Thank you for sharing Morgan.

I was wondering, are the two girls that were shown with Jake and Josh, are those Phil’s daughters?

I watched the service last night, live. It was wonderful; such a fitting tribute. Every time I saw Josh and Jake, my face lit up with a huge smile. How proud their dad must be of them! I love the photo of Josh with the yellow rose. Who is the proud owner of that memorial tattoo? Is that Josh’s arm? I’d love to see more photos when you have a chance to post them. Out love to the F/V Cornelia Marie family (the Harrises and the Devlins). We sure wish we could be there, but we’re landlocked here in Texas. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you, Morgan, for the Memorial photos. I was wondering, too, who were the girls with Josh and Jake? I didn’t realize that Capt. Phil was still married until the memorial, and I’m glad he had someone close. You do a great job with the site, and hopefully, we’ll see the CM this fall, won’t be the same without Capt. Phil, but I would miss the Cornelia Marie.

Thank you Morgan, the memorial was great! My whole family watched it online. We would have loved to attend, but live on the east coast. Phil would have been so proud of his boys.

I too wondered if Captain Phil had other children besides Jake and Josh?

I am confused about where the man said Phil was married because in interviews Phil said he was divorced.

Can you clear that up for everyone?

I could not get the memorial or the catch con link to open up!!!

I like that tattoo! Did Jake and Josh both get one?

Watched the memorial service, it was really nice,I think Captain Phil would have enjoyed it, but was shocked to hear the poem “Do not stand at my grave and weep” as I had sent a copy of this to a tribute site for Captain Phil.I know others probably sent copies of this as well, but it is nice to think that it could have been my copy that was read as I could’nt attend in person as I live in England. You won’t be forgotten Captain.R.I.P.

Thank you Morgan for posting the websites for both Phil’s memorial and Catch Con. I truly wish I could have attended the memorial but had a funeral here at home to attend the same day. Thank you for doing such a great job with the web sites and for keeping us fans up to date. All my love and best wishes to the Harris family and all those close to Captain Phil.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to watch the memorial when it was live, and can’t see it now (the privacy issue). Is there any chance it could be opened back up to the public?

I thought the service was beautiful. Very moving.

I really loved the two poems about Phil. Does anyone know words to the poems? Not sure who wrote them….

Deadliest won’t be the same without Captain Phil but as we all know time moves on & leaves us all wondering “what if”? Phil has two wonderful young men who will do him proud and thru them we will be able to watch & again learn. Rest in Peace Captain and watch over your loved ones for that ocean is still out there & the crab will still crawl!

UNFORTUNATLY I MISSED WATCHING THE SERVICE. I’M HOPING TO CATCH IT ONLINE SOON! JOSH IS A HOTTIE IN THE PIC WITH THE ROSE! I’M SURE ALL OF US WILL REMEMBER CAPTAIN PHIL FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES. MOST OF US ONLY KNEW HIM THROUGH THE T.V. BUT HE WAS THE REALEST PERSON (ALONG WITH TB BOYS). HE GAVE YOU THAT WARM FATHER FIGURE THAT DON’T TAKE NO LIP EFFECT! I MISS CAPTAIN PHIL AND I’M SURE IT IS GOING TO SUCK EVEN MORE WHEN WE NO LONGER SEE HIS PRESENCE ON THE SHOW!

  19. Susan Ingham said:

Rose (above)wanted the words to the poems, here are the words to one of them.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush
    I am the uplifting rush
    Of quiet birds encircled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die.

Phil….a real character, a real person who seemed as though he never knew a stranger. He was supportive of all on his boat, the whole realm of fishermen. He will definitely be missed. It is May and I just learned of his passing. I am sad for his family, but oh, the memories.
i love this crab family…the whole DC crew. God Bless you all.

I know in the orbit they mentioned Phil leaves behind his father, his 2 sons and a daughter named Andrea. One of the girls could have been Andrea or they could have been Josh and Jake’s girlfriends. I know Josh has stated in interviews he has 5 sisters but I’d say more than likely the girls seen with Josh and Jake at the memorial were their girlfriends. RIP Phil, you are dearly missed!

Memorable capture of Josh throwing the flowers into the sea. Imagery like this is so important to freeze the moment of letting go and releasing the spirit.

Via my observation, shopping for technology online may be easily expensive, although there are some how-to’s that you can use to acquire the best products. There are always ways to discover discount specials that could make one to buy the best electronic devices products at the smallest prices. Thanks for your blog post.
