Capt. Phil is in the hospital, medivacked from St. Paul

Captain Phil Harris suffered a stroke yesterday at St. Paul Island in Alaska. He was medivacked to Anchorage and is currently at a hospital receiving treatment.

I didn’t say anything earlier, so family can learn from us instead of through the internet. I know anybody who is reading this also cares about Phil, so we thought you should know as well.

Phil is at a good hospital and receiving the best care possible. My mother, Cornelia Marie Devlin and Jake Harris are with him at the hospital.  The boat is in the harbor now, but needs to be able to leave in case the ice shifts and moves in.

He was immediately taken to the clinic in St. Paul – the same place he was treated when he had a blood clot two years ago.

As soon as we receive more information about Phil, we will pass it on to you.

Cornelia Marie Devlin and Capt. Phil’s Visit Anchorage (wrap-up)

Captain Phil Harris and Cornelia Marie Devlin, co-owners of the FV Cornelia Marie, appeared at the recent Fourth of July “Alaska Aviation Museum Salmon Bake & Fly By”. According to Emilie Saunders from the Museum, this year’s event was the most successful ever with over 700 in attendance.

This was Cornelia Marie’s first public appearance and she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. During the course of the weekend she and Captain Phil had dinner with raffle winners at Humpy’s, rode in the parade, and signed autographs. The pair both enjoyed flying in the museum’s Grumman Goose. There are only about 20-30 of this make and model still in operation.  (photos provided by Heidi DuFresne and the Alaska Aviation Museum) (more…)

July 4th with Capt. Phil and Cornelia Marie

alaskamuseumCapt. Phil Harris and Cornelia Marie Devlin will be spending their Fourth of July at the “Alaska Aviation Museum Salmon Bake & Fly By”.  This is a charity event to help raise money for the museum.  Talk about your fearless men – the early bush pilots in Alaska were quite the guys.

Also, there is a raffle currently underway which presents the prize of having dinner with Capt. Phil and Cornelia Marie at Humpy’s in Anchorage.  (Good food there).

This will be the first time my mother will do a public appearance.  As you may know, Cornelia Marie Devlin owns the boat with Capt. Phil.
