Cornelia Marie thanks you for your support

My mother Cornelia Marie and I wish to thank everyone for your support on behalf of Josh, Jake and the rest of the family. During this most difficult time you have expressed your sadness and offered your prayers and good wishes. Many of you have also shared your concern for Phil’s boys. Many nice of words have been written in emails and comments – we appreciate them all.
Many of you have asked if the “family has a charity, group or cause they would like donations to be made in Capt. Phil’s memory”. Capt. Phil supported certain causes and something will be setup shortly. Once it is, we’ll post it here.
Anything sent to the address below, will be hand-delivered to Jake, Josh and Phil’s dad by a close family friend.
Captain Phil Harris
PO Box 32466
Amarillo, TX 79120-2466
Thank you so much for all the kind words. We will post more later.

Dear Jake,
I just read your bio. It is good to hear that you have quit smoking. You are a very strong young man. My mother passed in a way as your dad did and it was difficult to go through, so I understand how you and Josh and other’s feelabout your loss. I cried the whole season and his conditon was only too familiar to me.
I too watched helplessly while she died of the same disease. Cigarettes and stress. The combo killer.
Your family photos made me realize what a beautiful family you all have. Man, Your dad was better looking than Brad Pitt and Jesus!!! What I loved about him most was that he had a huge heart. Just like my mother, she too had a huge heart. Huge hearts that cigarettes + stress killed.
I would love to support any kind of groups or organizations you support or build from this disease. I will try to keep up with what you are doing so that I can fully support you and your causes.
Take care,
J. Viera

RIP Capt Phil!! I hope the Cornelia Marie and its crew and owners can recover and continue fishing and to be on the program.
What broke my heart is to watch the “after the catch” and see the two “boys” smoking.

Dear Cornelia Marie Crew,
Contacting you from London, England. I just felt that we ( Drainage Workers ) should drop you guys a line to say how sorry we all are at the passing of Capt Phill Harris.
He was a man who demanded your full attention when watching the show because of the way he approched the sea and his job with such great heart and sheer determination.
I would go so far as to say that for a very long time to come he will be fondly remembered by people who he had never once met.
The fishing fleet of Dutch Harbour are not the only ones to have lost a friend – every fan of the show has lost one too.
Hang in there lads, Make Capt PHIL PROUD !!!
RIP Captain Phill Harris

I am only sorry that life passed us by and what a houner it would have been to share a beer with Captain Phill.
But in a funny way he came into my sitting room and became part of my r&r time something to look forward too.
I would like to pass on my kind words to the Boys and family and i am sure that Captain phill will live on and with out a doubt the boys will reach up to make there father ever more proud.

My heart goes out to Josh,Jake and the rest of Phil’s family and the crew, following his passing. He was one of he stalwarts of Deadliestb Catch, and will be sorely missed. It shows how much he was respected as both a friend and a fisherman, when you see the emotions of the other Captains and crew members, many of whom were in tears, when they were informed. These are men who earn their living in one of the harshest environments in the world, yet they have hearts larger than the Bering Sea itself.Josh, please stick with your re-hab programme and make Phil proud that you have managed to kick the habit.
All the best to you all,and remember that Phil will be watching you forever.

I’m late to Deadliest Catch, only having recently watched all the seasons on Netflix.
Capt. Phil quickly became my favorite! He’s the one I’d want to fish with if I decided to hit the Bering Sea in an alternate universe.
What I loved so much about him was how tough he was, but how kind and sincere he was, too. It was obvious that he really “saw” everyone he met, that he never forgot he was dealing with real people, even in the most stressful situations. His love for fishing and for people was so clear. And I loved how he talked! I loved how he got right to the heart of a matter, in no uncertain terms.
I also very greatly admired his expectation that his sons earn their place on the boat, just like any other deckhand.
I echo the sentiment of another fan: I grieve for all of Capt. Phil’s family and friends. And I grieve for the fans, too. I feel like I lost a friend. He’s the kind of guy I wished had been a mentor to me.
Capt. Phil has taken a place among my life-long heroes.
Love to Capt. Phil, his sons, his father, the rest of his family, and all of his friends.
We miss you, Capt. Phil!!

Hey Jake and Josh,
Watching your dad’s struggle was heartbreaking to me, as I lost my father 1-20-10. Just know your dad is in a better place where the pots always full. :)

Hey guys – So sorry that you guys have lost your Father , Friend and Captain – i think the world over had grown to love the whole crew of the CM – you guys have to carry the torch now – you are todays heroes and tomorrows legends . fair play for the job you do – bravery has no boundaries with you , wishing you – all the crew safe fishing – its easy for us in tv land to see the cut and polished version for tv , but we could only grasp at imagining how tough it is to do your job .
best wishes to the new captain and to the continued crew from Kilkenny Ireland
