Cornelia Marie Devlin and Capt. Phil’s Visit Anchorage (wrap-up)

Captain Phil Harris and Cornelia Marie Devlin, co-owners of the FV Cornelia Marie, appeared at the recent Fourth of July “Alaska Aviation Museum Salmon Bake & Fly By”. According to Emilie Saunders from the Museum, this year’s event was the most successful ever with over 700 in attendance.
This was Cornelia Marie’s first public appearance and she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. During the course of the weekend she and Captain Phil had dinner with raffle winners at Humpy’s, rode in the parade, and signed autographs. The pair both enjoyed flying in the museum’s Grumman Goose. There are only about 20-30 of this make and model still in operation. (photos provided by Heidi DuFresne and the Alaska Aviation Museum)

Somehow that’s not how I pictured Cornelia Marie. I’m glad they enjoyed themselves and helped support the museum. Thanks for sharing the pics. I wondered what happened at the event. Didn’t someone win a dinner with them?

Cheryl,
Lol… As the first line of the article says, they are co-owners of the Cornelia Marie. Cornelia Marie Devlin took Phil on as captain and later business partner. Phil and she are in no way related.
Phil is, indeed, SINGLE! =D

I have been watching the Deadliest Catch for years, and for whatever reason, I felt Capt. Phil was the real deal. He was a loving Dad that may have not always said the right thing but the boys loved him enough to know. I loved watching the show and the interaction between the 3. Phil Harris will be missed by me and many, many others. Watch for the crab farts wherever you are..

Been watching DC since it started. Never knew that we could get so attached to a “tv personality” but my husband and I will miss Phil like an old friend. Our deepest sympathy to his boys. We’ll keep them in our prayers.

It’s very important that what you write and what you want to exactly say, you show me some of the relevant information that i need. I tried some shared info sources but neither was giving enough details about it.

The deadliest catch is pretty cool and I often wonder if I had the opportunity to do this sort of work, (risks included) would I take the plunge?
A lot of these guys don’t come home and the seas look so sickening at times. If you have ever been sea sick you will know what I mean.
