Phil, you look great! My husband and I are hoping you’re back in the Captain’s chair and kickin’ arse next season! (Obviously you’re our favorite Captain.) I’d love to try your new coffee, but unfortunately it isn’t in the stores here in Wake Forest, NC. Guess I’ll have to make a yearly trek to Seattle (my FAVORITE CITY) now. ;-) Keep up the good work, STAY HEALTHY, and don’t let the boys drive you crazy. (And maybe listen to them once in a while….it’s obvious everyone cares a great deal about you!) Here’s to your health!!
Much Love,
Steph

Captain Phil,
Its good to see you are doing better and hope to watch you catch alot of crab during the next season. Will still be praying for you and your crew. Take care of yourself, just remember that your health is the most important thing. If you take good care of yourself then your body will return the favor and let you do the things you love. Would love to try the coffee, but Horn Lake, MS is a long way from Seattle.

Best of luck to you, Capt. Phil! I was out of work with my own health issues when I became acquinted with you and the crew of the Cornelia Marie. All of those late nights without sleep for a couple months caught me up on each season of “Deadliest Catch”. It was hard to get to know you through watching the show just to see you have to struggle at the end of the season with health issues. I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery and that you will be able to continue fishing as you have loved so much of your life. You are in many thoughts and prayers. Take care.

I’ve been out of touch with the Deadliest Catch crews for over a month, and have missed Captain Phil most of all. I’m soooo glad he’s back on the boat, and in better health than last I saw him. I was really worried about him until I saw him again today. Hugs to Phil and his crew, especially his boys. I will be watching daily and checking in on the websites so I can keep up with my favorite captain.

Greetings from Minnesota, where walleye is king. ;) Like everyone else, hope to see you onboard your beloved CM this season, but also pray that you listen to your docs and your boys and stay in drydock as long as it takes to get back out there relatively safely! We eat crab in MN, too, so I can’t wait for the next boatful! ;)
I also wanted to comment on the last ep of “After the Catch.” As you, Mike Rowe and the other guests were all sittin’ around the table, the Hillstrand boyz were hasslin’ your family and the Hansen boyz about your Norwegian heritage – particularly about Ballard and lutesisk. ;) I did not now until that ep that the Hillstrand’s are Swedes – that explains a lot! ;)
Outside of Minnesota (or the old country) I have never heard/seen the Norwegian/Swede rivaly as intense as it is here! You and the Hansen’s displayed that classic Norwegian stoic dignity in the face of those snarky Swedes! Skol! ;)

Good to see that you’re feeling better Captain, the CM isn’t the same without Phil Harris at the helm in his wheelhouse. I have to say though, if you head out on the grounds for the ’09 season…all you have to do is stay healthy, stay sharp, and the crab will simply jump into your holds.
Neptune bless your vessel and every member of her crew.

Captain Phil,
Thank you so much for the visit and signings for us and friend at Milwaukee Harley Davidson 105th Kicker Booth. It was a fun adventurous thrill for us to see you with Russ and friends there on the second day as well. We were your first to meet Thursday and we helped get Russ and his Dad back to their bikes on Friday. You were wonderful to all the crowd and such a pleasure and treasure to see. What an added bonus to have you make it to the Midwest this year of difficulties for you. We cant thank you enough or tell you what a joy it was to see you feeling better and able to swing through our way. Glad you made to Bonnie and Skip’s for the rides as well. We truly enjoy you and your adventures aboard the Cornelia Marie and so look forward to your return to fishing in the future. May the angels watch over you and yours always in all ways. Hugs and good back rubs to ya Rich and CJ.

I am Dealiest Catch hooked. Even watch all the repeats. It’s like being on an adventure without being here, but feeling the excitement and tension. I hope you’re well and will return in the 09 season. I also hope you stopped smoking, but I personally know how difficult it is. I stopped cold turkey in ’80. It takes guts to do it that way, but you pride yourself as a tough guy, so I do know you’re capable of it. Take care. Pam M.

Hi Phil’
Hope you are still getting better each day. I know how hard it is to slow down & smell the coffee but sometimes that is the best thing for you. Of course the show wouldn’t be the same without you. I know that you can quit smoking with your grit @ determination. It’s hard as hell but I finally quit after 40 years & heart surgery. Would be lovely if you could sail the CM to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I would set up camp til you got there just to meet you & the boys. We love you in Ms. also. Thank you for showing people how difficult & exciting some jobs can be. All of you Bering Sea Captains are extremely brave OR crazy but take care & know that prayers go out for you daily.Be Blessed

Hey Captain Phil, ‘Boys’ & Crew!
this year I would love to see Captain Phil munching away on almonds, sunflower seeds, dried apricots, raisins, dried cranberries, oranges, apples, bananas, grapes, carrots, celery, parsley (it’s delicious especially organic), brocolli, pecans, macadamia’s, pumpkin seeds, um, acai berry juice, any organic juices and anything else you can think of “good for you that you like”. Then after you have been snacking so healthily you can slip in some organic potatoe chips with maybe some sea salt! yummy! ;o) Once you start you will feel so much better it will rewire your brain and it will all come natural. No pun intended of course! And don’t forget to take ALL those vitamins, especially about 1400 IU’s of Vitamin D3, potassium, folic acid, Vit C!! You’ll have so much more energy and if you share with the crew they’ll feel better too!!! Love yourselves cuz we all sure do!
God’s Speed,
Kaye
PS Cinnamon is really good in the coffee with some real, dark, chocolate powder and good 4 U too!! ;o)

From one Washingtonian to another, I want to add my voice in with all the others to say I hope your health gets better every day, til we can see you behind the wheel of the Cornelia Marie!
My grandfather, Don McCune – had a long running show in the Pacific Northwest called Captain Puget, and then Exploration Northwest. Watching you and your crew, I can’t help but think he would have really enjoyed knowing you guys. You are Puget Sound men, through and through.
All the best to you and the guys. And like grandpa always said… “Smooth Sailing…. and Bye for now!”
