“After the Catch” premieres tonight after the Deadliest catch. However, the host of the show is now Ben Bailey from the “Cash Cab” show. They actually just finished videotaping the show last week in San Deigo at R.T. Longboard’s… finally an interview where Capt. Phil can smoke. Wait, isn’t that illegal in California? Must have been closed to the public:) Expect to see Capt. Phil and his sons Jake and Josh and Corey Eisenbarth -who was a deckhand on the Cornelia Marie for the King Crab season. “After the Catch” runs Tuesdays for the next five weeks following the “Deadliest Catch.” What did you think of the show?

Love the show as always…. but now i have a question related to the crabbing industry. are the deckhands covered by a workers compensation or similar coverage, or are they independent contractors and if they get hurt then……

This season “After the Catch” really needs Mike Rowe to host. Show is not as good.We won’t be tuning in this year.
I enjoyed the after the catch very much this year! It was fresh, interesting, and FUN! Can’t wait to see what they share with us next week.
It is fun to see everyone together while they’re not fishing. They are just a bunch of friends chatting it up. I like that.

Yeah, I’m curious about Mike Rowe. When is Discovery Channel going to help us Discover why Mike Rowe isn’t on Deadliest Catch anymore? I love the Cash Cab guy too, but I don’t even know his name and just want to know what happened to Mike.

I was out of town last week and missed the show. I know that I will be able to see last week DC episode before the new one this week, but I’m wondering where I can see the first episode of After the Catch.
I have always loved watching those episodes because you learn so much, and I can’t find it online anywhere! Thanks!!

I LOVE Deadliest Catch…takes you away each week and there is always a little suspense. The smoking in the wheel house needs to stop or we will loose someone. After the Catch is a whole other story. Last year was great…Mike Rowe makes the show. This new guy from “Cash Cab” can leave anytime. I no longer watch the show since he is the host. PLEASE BRING MIKE ROWE BACK TO AFTER THE CATCH

Thanks for sharing your working lives with us. I can always watch one episode of deadliest catch and feel better about my job. I don’t see how you guys do the 30+hour stretch of work without going crazy! The wet, the cold, the wind, the very real chance of losing your life with one small mistake. Please be careful guys and we wish you the very best of luck.
One more thing, do us a favor – Please kick the producer in the A$$ and bring Mike Rowe back – the cash cab guy is too rehearsed/fake and really takes away from the show.

Easy folks. No cash boy is no Mike Rowe, but he tries to do good. Imagine how he feels, he knows he has BIG shoes to fill. Let’s give him a few more shows before we write him off. But we do miss ya Mike. Hang in there cash boy.
disc. channel, i love the after the catch show but i have to agree with the majority as much as i like cash cab and ben baily he doesnt belong on after the catch show and doesnt cut it as host! mike rowe not only comes across as believable in the show he is like a member of the show he is like part of the fleet of boatsand the family of crab fishermen and seems to be right at home with all the captains of the boats . it doesnt seem like hes interviewing it feels like hes just sitting around with old friends having a few brews and trading fishing stories! and after all isnt that what the show is supposed to be if so you better get mike rowe back because he is the only one who can pull it off effortlessly and thats because he is considered to be a member of the deadliest catch show as much as every member of the fleet and that is why viewers percieve him as sincere without him your show will lose viewers and fail and i wouldnt wait because i am another viewer you will lose it stinks without mike rowe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you kathy smith
What happened to Mike Rowe? The cash cab guy is fine on his own show, Mike is the best for Deadliest Catch.
My husband and I can’t understand why Mike Rowe was replaced as host without an explanation. He was an integral part of the show and we are disappointed and bewildered at his absence. Please explain. We can see that many others feel the same way.
Tonight was the first time I was able to watch After The Catch this season. I have to agree with what Kathy Smith had to say. Ben Bailey is going to cost you viewers! He doesn’t fit in with the guys well, and his voice is so monotone it almost put me to sleep. I love watching After the Catch because you learn so much in such a fun way, but that was missing this season.
I know that they did some trivia like you would see on Cash Cab, but this isn’t Cash Cab and it was out of place and unappealing. Please bring back Mike Rowe so I can enjoy After The Catch again and learn more. I don’t think I will keep watching with this guy…at least not on this show, I will on Cash Cab.
Reminds me of when they tried to substitute Michael Symon on Dinner impossible…did not work, they finally wised up and brought back Robert Irvine. I refused to watch it until they did. It just is not the same…anyone know why Mike is not there?

I watched Dinner Impossible to and actually liked Michael Symon more than Irvine, and was surprised because when it came out he lied about all the jobs he had I thought the show was over and wouldn’t be able to survive without him.
That was why I was giving this new version of After the Catch a chance without making up my mind by what others were saying. I know that sometimes we get so used to a show being one way that when it changes we don’t like it. The same goes for Silk Stalkings.
However after seeing an episode and how bad it was, this is just like Silk Stalkings (no Chris and Rita, no show) After the Catch without Mike is just not a show!
Need to bring Mike Rowe back…heck, he’s like one of the guys!

Man, the cash cab guy is annoying, I’ve been watching DC since it’s first season and it’s just not the same without Mike Rowe… I know a lot of people say they won’t watch anymore but they really will, for that reason their claims are ignored. For me, in all honesty, I just won’t enjoy the show enough to DVR and spend what little free time I have watching it with no Mike Rowe… The cash cab guys voice drives me nuts, if that’s the voice I’m going to have to hear during the show I’ll definitely be watching a lot more ‘House’. Mike Rowe is awesome, he’s got so many commitments with his career and does so many shows that he’s got to be one of the hardest working men in showbiz, he’s likable and respectable, cash boy is neither, bring Mike back…
I have been watching the show ever since it started. My husband I have all the dvd’s. And we want Mike back, he is the voice of the show anyways. We think it blows that he is not on After the Catch anymore. We love Mike. Its not the same without him.

Our house has watched DC and After the Catch since the first episode and love them both ~ but Mike Rowe is and always will be the ‘voice’ of DC & ATC. Please reconsider this change….I’m sure this guy is great on his own show but not for ATC
